1 pound loaf French bread
4 T butter, melted
2 T pesto
4-6 slices of provolone cheese
Slice bread into 3/4 inch slices, leave the bottom crust uncut to hold the loaf together. Place sliced bread on aluminum foil slightly longer than the loaf.
Stir together butter and pesto. Spread butter mixture over the top and inside the slices of bread. Cut cheese slices into fourths and place a piece of cheese between the slices of bread. Crimp the foil to surround the bottom edge of the bread to hold it together and catch drips. Place on oven rack in 375 degree oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until top is golden brown and cheese is melted. Serve warm.
