4 regular-size tart apples, peeled and cut into small cubes
2 T butter
3/4 c dark brown sugar
2 t apple pie spice
1 T cornstarch
1 T cold water
In a pan over medium heat melt butter. Add apples and saute for 5 minutes, until they start to soften. Sprinkle brown sugar and spice over apples. Mix and cook for another 5 minutes until sugar is melted and apples are soft.
In a bowl, mix cornstarch with cold water. Add cornstarch mixture to apple mixture and stir for a few minutes. Mixture will get thick.
Serve room temperature with cinnamon chips.
Cinnamon chips-
Spread 10 small flour tortillas with 3 T melted butter, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Cut each tortilla into eight pieces and lay on baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes until crispy and light brown.
