Bacon Cheeseburger Balls
Ingredients:
- refrigerated original or buttermilk biscuits - 1 can
- ground beef, cooked - 1 pound
- cheddar cheese, cut into 16 cubes - 8 ounces
- bacon - 16 slices
Instructions:
Separate dough into 8 biscuits. Cut each biscuit in half; press each biscuit half into a 3 inch circle. Place 2 T cooked beef and 1 cube of cheese in center of dough. Wrap dough to completely cover beef and cheese; pinch seams to seal.
Fried Version -- wrap each biscuit with 1 bacon slice; gently secure bacon with toothpick. Heat canola oil to 350 degrees. Fry each biscuit for 4 - 5 minutes or until dough is golden brown on all sides. Place on paper towels. Serve warm with ketchup and mustard.
Baked Version -- place bacon on foil lined cookie sheet with sides. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 8 minutes to partially cook bacon. Wrap each ball with 1 slice partially cooked bacon, secure with toothpick. Place bacon wrapped biscuits 2 inches apart foil lined cookie sheets with dough seam side down. Bake 13 - 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ketchup and mustard.
