Fire and Ice Pickles
Ingredients:
- dill pickle slices - 32 ounce jar
- sugar - 2 cups
- hot sauce - 1 T
- crushed red pepper flakes - 1 tsp
- BBQ rub - 1 tsp
Instructions:
Drain pickles, reserve pickle juice for another use.
In a bowl, stir together pickles, sugar, hot sauce, red pepper flakes and barbecue rub. Cover bowl, set at room temperature for 2 - 4 hours; stir occasionally. Spoon pickle slices into a 1 quart Mason jar, pour remaining liquid from the bowl into the jar within ¼ inch of the rim.
Place lid on the jar, place in refrigerator for at least a minimum of 24 hours before serving. Store in refrigerator.
