Italian Bread with Gorgonzola Spread
Ingredients:
- Italian Bread or long crusty rolls - 1 loaf
- butter, softened - 1/4 cup
- Gorgonzola cheese, softened - 1/2 cup
- garlic, minced - 1 - 2 cloves
- parsley - 2 - 3 t - to desired taste
- salt & pepper - to desired taste
- fresh grated Parmesan cheese -
- basil or oregano, optional - to desired taste
Instructions:
In a bowl, cream together butter and Gorgonzola cheese until smooth. Add garlic, parsley, salt and pepper to cheese mixture. If using the basil or the oregano add.
Slice bread into 1 1/2 inch slices, leaving bottom of loaf intack. Spread cheese mixture in between each slice. Sprinkle top of loaf with Parmesan cheese and wrap in foil. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven
for 10 - 15 minutes. Serve hot with your favorite pasta dish.
