Cheesy Pesto Bread
Ingredients:
- French bread - 1 pound loaf
- butter, melted - 4 T
- pesto - 2 T
- provolone cheese - 4 - 6 slices
Instructions:
Slice bread into 3/4 inch slices, leaving the bottom crust uncut to hold the loaf together. Place sliced bread on a piece of aluminum foil slightly larger than the loaf.
In a bowl stir together butter and pesto together. Using a basting brush, spread butter mixture over top and inside the slices of the loaf. Cut cheese slices and slide a piece of cheese into each cut of the loaf. Crimp foil to surround the bottom edge of the bread to hold it together and catch any drippings. Place directly on oven rack. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 15 minutes or until top is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Serve warm.
