Triple Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
- chocolate fudge cake mix - 1 box
- dark chocolate instant pudding mix - 3.4 ounce box
- eggs - 3
- vanilla extract - 2 tsp
- milk - 1 cup
- vegetable oil - 1/2 cup
- sour cream - 1/2 cup
- topping --
- hot fudge sauce - 12.8 ounce jar
- dark chocolate instant pudding - 3.4 ounce box
- milk - 2 cups
- whipped cream --
- heavy whipping cream - 3 cups
- hot chocolate mix - 1 1/2 cups
- garnish --
- hot fudge sauce -
- white chocolate chips, crushed - 1/4 cup
- milk chocolate chips, crushed - 1/4 cup
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine cake mix, dry pudding mix, eggs, vanilla, milk, oil and sour cream; beat on medium speed until well combined. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 - 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes.
While the cake is still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the top of cake.
Heat hot fudge sauce in the microwave for 30 seconds or until it can be stirred and thin it out. Evenly pour the hot fudge sauce over the top of cake. Let set until completely cooled.
Prepare pudding layer -- mix together instant dark chocolate pudding and 2 cups of cold milk. Before pudding sets, pour pudding over the cake. Place cake in the refrigerator for 15 minutes for pudding to set.
Prepare whipped cream -- in a COLD bowl, with COLD beaters, beat whipping cream on medium speed for about 3 minutes. Add hot chocolate mix, increase speed to medium high, beat until stiff peak form.
Spread whipped cream over cake. Garnish -- drizzle hot fudge sauce over top of cake and sprinkle white and milk chocolate chips over top of cake.
