Oreo Truffles
Ingredients:
- Oreo's, divded (not doublestuff) - 15.5 ounce package
- cream cheese, softened - 8 ounces
- vanilla almond bark or candy melts - 16 ounces
Instructions:
Finely crush 36 Oreos, place in a bowl with cream cheese, combine until evenly moistened. Form into 1 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Place truffles in freezer for 10 minutes. Crush 3 Oreos.
Melt almond bark per directions on package. Dip truffles in melted bark and evenly coat, allowing excess bark to run off. Place on wax paper lined baking sheet, immediately sprinkle tops with remaining crushed Oreos then allow bark to set. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.
Variation - Peppermint Truffles -- follow above directions and add 1 t peppermint extract. Omit crushed Oreo's on top and replace with 1/4 c crushed candy canes sprinkled on top.
