1 ¼ pound hamburger
15 ounce can tomato sauce
½ t salt
ground black pepper
8 ounces egg noodles
½ c sour cream
1 ¼ c small curd cottage cheese
1/4 c sliced green onions
1 c grated sharp cheddar cheese
In a skillet brown hamburger season with salt and pepper. Drain fat, add tomato sauce, 1/2 t salt and black pepper. Stir and simmer.
Cook noodles until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a bowl, combine sour cream and cottage cheese, add more black pepper. Add to noodles and stir. Stir in the green onions.
In a 9×13 inch pan add half of the noodles. Top with half the meat mixture, sprinkle on half the cheddar cheese. Repeat with noodles, meat, top with a layer of cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
Serve with a side salad and toasted French bread.
