Sausage Pizza Bake
Ingredients:
- sausage - 8 ounces
- onion, diced - 1 medium
- mushrooms, sliced - 2 cups
- salt - 1/2 t
- Bisquick mix - 3 cups
- water - 1 cup
- pizza sauce - 14 ounce jar
- shredded mozzarella cheese - 8 ounces
Instructions:
In a skillet cook sausage until browned. Remove all but 2 T grease from pan, add onion, cook until translucent but not browned. Add mushrooms and salt, cook until onions are caramelized. Remove from heat. In a bowl, stir Bisquick and water until soft dough forms. Place half of the dough by spoonful's into pan. (Dough will not completely cover bottom of pan). Pour half of the pizza sauce over dough; sprinkle with half of the cheese and spread half of the sausage mixture; repeat layers. Bake in a preheated 375 oven for 25 - 30 minutes, until golden. Serve immediately with garlic toast.
