Apple Crisp Bars
Ingredients:
- quick cooking oats - 2 cups
- flour - 1 1/4 cup
- baking soda - 1 t
- cinnamon - 1 t
- nutmeg - 1/4 t
- butter, softened - 1 cup
- packed brown sugar - 3/4 cup
- caramels - 11 ounce package
- milk - 2 T
- apples, chopped - 2 large (2cups)
Instructions:
Line a 13 x 9 inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides; spray with cooking spray.
Blend together oats, 1 c flour, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
In a bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour mixture until blended. Set aside 1 c of oat mixture; press remaining onto bottom of pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 15 minutes.
Melt together caramels and milk until caramels are completely melted and smooth. Stir in 1/4 c flour. Place apples over crust; drizzle with caramel sauce. Crumble 1 c oat mixture over caramel sauce. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
