Caramel Marshmallow Brownies
Ingredients:
- brownie mix for 9 x 9 inch pan - 1 plus ingredients listed on box
- marshmallow fluff - 7 ounce jar
- caramels - 11 ounce bag
- water - 1 T
- butter - 6 T
- milk - 6 T
- vanilla - 1 1/2 t
- unsweetened cocoa powder - 3 t
- powdered sugar - 4 c
Instructions:
Prepare brownies as per directions on box, bake at the lower suggested baking times, till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. While brownies are still hot, drop dollops of marshmallow fluff over the top, let set for 1-2 minutes before spreading. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour. Melt together caramels and 1 T, stirring until completely smooth. Remove brownies from refrigerator, spread warm caramel over the top. Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, add milk and cocoa powder and stir until smooth. Let mixture come to a boil, remove from heat, stir in vanilla and powdered sugar until smooth. If mixture is to thick, add a little more milk. Remove brownies from refrigerator and pour warm frosting over the top. Place brownies in the refrigerator for 1 hour to set frosting.
