Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies
Ingredients:
- butter, soft - 1/2 cup
- sugar - 3/4 cup
- packed brown sugar - 2 T
- egg - 1
- vanilla - 1/2 t
- flour - 1 cup plus 2 T
- baking soda - 1/2 t
- salt - 1/4 t
- chocolate chips - 1 cup
- brownie mix plus ingredients listed on box - 18.9 ounce box
- nuts, optional -
Instructions:
In a bowl, cream together butter and sugars, add vanilla and egg; cream until smooth. Gently stir in flour, baking soda and salt until incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips. Place in refrigerator until ready to use.
Prepare brownies per package directions. If desired add nuts. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 9 inch glass baking dish. Scatter pieces of cookie dough over brownie batter. Gently press dough part way into the batter. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, cover with foil, bake 10 minutes, remove foil and bake 5 minutes. Cool for 15 - 20 minutes, before cutting.
