Cinnamon Crisps
Ingredients:
- puff pastry, thawed - 17.3 ounce package
- water - 1 T
- unsalted butter, melted - 3 T
- ground cinnamon - 3/4 cup
- sugar - 1/3 cup
- creme fraiche OR sour cream - 8 ounce container
- orange juice and zest - 1
- brown sugar - 2 T
Instructions:
Prepare crisps -- unfold one piece of pastry dough. If pastry is crack slightly wet it and push it together. Brush top of pastey with butter, sprinkle evenly with cinnamon and sugar, set aside 2 tsp sugar for later use. Roll dough tightly into a long cylinder, cut into 1/2 inch thick slices. Place on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper; sprinkle each crisp with a little sugar.
Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 18 - 20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
Prepare dipping sauce -- in a bowl mix together creme fraiche, orange juice and zest. Stir in brown sugar.
