Fruit and Nut Rice Krispie Bars
Ingredients:
- Rice Krispies - 1 1/2 cups
- quick cooking rolled oats - 1 cup
- mixed nuts, peanuts, almonds, pistachios, etc, to desired taste - 1/2 cup
- dried fruit, raisins, apricots, cranberries, etc, to desired taste - 1/2 cup
- maple syrup - 1/4 cup
- butter - 2 T
- mini marshmallows - 1 cup
Instructions:
Butter a 8 x 8 inch square pan. Line bottom of pan with parchment paper, letting the paper hang over two sides.
In a bowl, combine cereal, oats, fruit and nuts; set aside.
In a saucepan, bring maple syrup and butter to a boil; simmer for 1 minute. Add marshmallows, stir until marshmallows melt. Pour mixture over cereal mixture; stir to coat. Press mixture into the prepared pan. Cool for 2 hours at room temperature. Remove bars from pan and cut into bars. If desired, wrap bars individually in plastic wrap.
