1 large tart apple
1 can crescent dough
1/2 c butter
2/3 c sugar
1/2 t cinnamon
1/2 t vanilla
3/4 c 7-Up
Core apple and cut apple into 8-10 wedges, remove apple peel, set aside.
Separate crescent dough into triangles. Roll each apple wedge in crescent roll dough starting at the wide end. Covering apple, pinch to seal and place in a greased 8×8 inch baking dish.
In a saucepan melt butter; stir in sugar and cinnamon, whisk to combine. When mixture is thickened, remove from heat; add vanilla.
Pour butter mixture over the apple dumplings. Pour 7up over the dumplings
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown.
If desired serve with a dip of ice cream.
