1 box phyllo dough, thawed
1 c sugar
1/2 c water
1 t lemon juice
1 c finely chopped walnuts
1/2 c sugar
1 t cinnamon
Syrup – in a saucepan bring to a boil 1 c sugar, water and lemon juice; simmer for 5 minutes, stir occasionally. Cool
Cut phyllo dough in half then cut to fit a 9×13 inch pan. Place half of the dough in pan.
Combine walnuts, sugar and cinnamon, spread over phyllo dough.
Cover with other half of dough.
With a serrated knife, cut into triangles.
Drizzle evenly with 1 c melted butter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, untill golden brown.
Remove from oven, pour cooled syrup over hot baklava.
