Chocolate Almond Pastry
Ingredients:
- frozen puff pastry, thawed - 1 sheet
- egg, lightly beaten - 1
- turbinado sugar -
- dark chocolate chips - 2 ounces
- honey -
- toasted chopped almonds - 3 T
- sea salt -
- vanilla ice cream -
Instructions:
Place puff pastry on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Fold edges form a 1 inch crust. Prick middle of dough all over with a fork. Brush edges with egg and sprinkle with sugar. Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
Remove from freezer, bake in a preheated 450 degree oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips over pastry, drizzle with honey and sprinkle with salt. Return to oven, bake for 2 minutes or until chocolate melts.
Sprinkle almonds over pastry, cut into 4 squares. Serve with ice cream, and honey drizzled over top.
