Fruit and Cream Cheese Dessert
Ingredients:
- cream cheese, softened - 4 ounces
- sugar - 1/2 cup
- vanilla extract - 1/2 t
- refrigerated crescent rolls - 1 package
- pie filling of choice - apple, peach, raspberry, cherry, etc - 1 can
- butter, melted - 1/4 cup
- cinnamon sugar OR plain sugar - for topping
Instructions:
In a bowl, hand whip cream cheese, sugar and vanilla together until well blended.
Unroll crescent rolls and cut into even halves. Pinch seams together, place one of the halves in the bottom of a greased 8 x 8 inch baking pan. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, spoon pie filling over cream cheese. Top with the other half of dough, evenly pour butter over the top. Depending the flavor of pie filling used, generously sprinkle top with cinnamon sugar or plain sugar.
Bake uncovered in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes until golden brown. Let cool until filling is set before cutting.
