Grilled Pound Cake
Ingredients:
- whipping cream - 1 pint
- honey - 1/4 cup
- rose water - 1 tsp
- pound cake, cut into 1 inch slices - 1
- toasted, pre shelled pistachios - 1 cup
- pitted, sliced cherries - 1 pound
Instructions:
Prepare whipped cream -- place metal bowl and beaters in the freezer for a few minutes. Remove, add cream, start beating with mixer on low speed, gradually increase the speed to high as the cream starts to thicken, about 6 minutes. When soft peaks begin to form, add honey and rose water, continue to beat until stiff peak forms. Cover, place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Place cake slices on a preheated medium heat grill or cast iron grill. DO NOT move slices once they are placed on the grill, sear for 2-3 minutes, or until light brown grill marks form. Flip over grill second side.
To serve, place 1 or 2 slices grilled pound cake on serving plate. Add a dollop of whipped cream. Sprinkle top with pistachios and sliced cherries. Serve immediately.
