Kahlua Mousse Dessert
Ingredients:
- Oreo cookies, crushed to fine crumbs - 15.5 ounces
- butter, melted - 4 T
- semi sweet chocolate chips - 12 ounces
- sugar - 1/2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- Kahlua liquor - 5 T
- heavy whipping cream - 3 c
- semi sweet chocolate - 2 - 3 ounces
Instructions:
Combine Oreo's and butter until well blended. Press crumb mixture evenly up the sides and on the bottom of a buttered 10 inch spring form pan lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely.
Prepare mousse -- Melt chocolate, sugar and water together, stir until smooth. Blend in Kahlua; set aside to cool.
In a bowl whip the cream until stiff peaks form, gently fold cream into cooled chocolate until completely blended. Pour mousse filling into crust, smooth top. Place in freezer, for at least for 6 hours.Remove side of springform pan. Cover a flat 10 inch plate with plastic wrap, place on top of dessert. Turn pan over and remove bottom of pan and parchment paper. Place serving plate on crust side of dessert and turn the dessert right side up (mousse will be on top). Grate chocolate over mousse and return to freezer. To serve place in the refrigerator 1 - 2 hours before serving to thaw.
