1 3/4 c flour
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
14 T butter, divided
1/3 c sugar
1/2 c dark brown sugar, packed
2 t vanilla extract
1 egg plus 1 egg yolk
1 c chocolate chips
In a bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
In a saucepan melt 10 T butter over medium heat. Whisk constantly, until the foam subsides and butter begins to turn a golden brown, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat; strain through cheesecloth or fine sieve.
Add 4 T butter stir until completely melted. Whisk in sugars and vanilla until combined. Add egg and egg yolk whisk until well combined. Beat in flour mixture. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
Divide mixture into 2 5 inch lightly greased cast iron skillets. Bake at 375 degrees 12-15 minutes until edges are golden brown but center is still moist.
Serve immediately, top with ice cream, a dollop of cool whip, chopped nuts and a maraschino cherry on top if desired.
