Slow Cooker Baked Apples
Ingredients:
- brown sugar - 1/4 cup
- chopped walnuts OR raisins - 1/4 cup
- margarine OR butter - 2 T
- cinnamon - 1 t
- Gala or Macintosh apples, cored - 6
- apple juice or apple cider - 1/2 cup
- orange liquor (optional) - 2 T
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, walnuts, margarine, and cinnamon.
Core most of the way through the apple, leave about ½ inch apple at the bottom. Fill the apples with filling and place in a slow cooker. Pour apple juice around the apples.
Cook on high heat for 2½ - 3 hours until apples are soft.
Can also be baked in the oven. Place apples in a 11 x 7 inch casserole dish, cover with aluminum foil. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 - 60 minutes.
