Strawberry Trifle
Ingredients:
- cream cheese, softened - 16 ounces
- powdered sugar - 2 cups
- sour cream - 16 ounce container
- vanilla - 1/2 t
- almond extract - 1/4 t
- Cool Whip, thawed - 1 cup
- sugar - 4 T
- angel food cake, cut into bite-size pieces - 1
- fresh strawberries, sliced thin - 2 quarts
Instructions:
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until fluffy; mix in sour cream, vanilla and almond extract; set aside. Fold cool whip into cream cheese mixture. Gently stir in cake pieces; set aside.
Combine strawberries and sugar, stir until sugar dissolves.
In a large glass bowl, place 1/4 of the strawberries, then add 1/3 of cake mixture; continue layering; finishing with strawberries. Cover with plastic wrap; and place in refrigerator for several hours.
