Chocolate Chip Sconce
Ingredients:
- flour - 2 cup
- sugar - 1/4 cup
- baking powder - 1 T
- Kosher salt - 1/2 tsp
- cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces - 6 T
- semisweet chocolate chips - 1 1/4 cups
- sour cream - 3/4 cup
- egg - 1
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Instructions:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Using a pastry cutter, cut butter into flour mixture until mixture forms small crumbs. Add chocolate chips; toss. Make a well in the center of the mixture.
In a second bowl, whisk together sour cream, egg and vanilla. Add to flour mixture, gently stir together with a fork until incorporated (DO NOT overmix). Form dough into a ball. On a lightly floured work surface, shape dough into an 8 inch round. Cut into 8 wedges, separate wedges, place on parchment paper lined baking sheet.
Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 12 - 14 minutes, until golden brown.
