Cookies and Cream Donuts
Ingredients:
- cake flour - 2 1/4 cups
- sugar - 1 cup
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- cream - 1 cup
- eggs - 2
- vanilla extract - 1 T
- butter, melted - 4 T
- cookies and cream pieces, roughly chopped - 1/2 cup
- glaze --
- powdered sugar - 1 cup
- cream - 1/4 cup
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- Oreo cookies, crushed - 1/2 cup
Instructions:
In a bowl, sift together cake flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In a second bowl, whisk togehter cream, eggs, vanilla and butter. Fold wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well combined. Gently fold in cookies and cream pieces. Pip batter into a greased donut pan.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 - 12 minutes until just cooked through and golden. Place pan on wire rack, let donuts cool in the pan.
Prepare glaze -- in a bowl, whisk together cream, vanilla and powdered sugar. Dip donuts in the glaze until to get a thick coating. Sprinkle on the crushed Oreo's over top.
