BBQ Turkey Flatbread
Ingredients:
- flatbreads - 4 (8 inch)
- butter - 3 T
- red onion, cut into thin slices, separted - 1
- whole berry cranberry sauce - 1/2 cup
- barbecue sauce (any variety) - 1/2 cup
- cooked turkey or chicken - 2 cups
- American cheese, cut diagonally into quarters - 8 slices
- chopped fresh chives - 2 T
Instructions:
Place flatbreads onto baking sheets. Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 5 - 6 minutes, until slightly crisp.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add onion. Cook, stir occasionally, 8 - 10 minutes or until onions are browned and caramelized. Remove onions from pan; add cranberry sauce and barbecue sauce to the pan. Cook over low heat until heated through.
Spread barbecue mixture over flatbreads. Top with caramelized onion, turkey and cheese. Bake for 8 - 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and crust is crisp. Sprinkle chives over top.
