Beef and Broccoli
Ingredients:
- boneless beef chuck roast, sliced into thin strips - 1 pound
- beef consomme - 1 cup
- soy sauce - 1/2 cup
- brown sugar - 1/3 cup
- sesame oil - 1 T
- garlic cloves, minced - 3
- cornstarch - 2 T
- fresh broccoli florets - 2 bunches
Instructions:
Place beef in a crock pot. In a bowl, combine consomme, soy sauce, brown sugar, oil and garlic; pour over beef. Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours. In a cup stir until smooth cornstarch and 2 T juice from crock pot, pour over meat and stir well. Stir in broccoli. Cover, cook 30 minutes on high. Sauce needs to boil to thicken. Serve over rice.
