Ham and Swiss Cheese Quiche
Ingredients:
- refrigerated pie crusts - 1 box
- shredded Swiss cheese - 2 cups
- chopped, cooked ham - 1 cup
- green onions, chopped - 4
- eggs - 6
- whipping cream - 1 cup
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- fresh ground black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- ground nutmeg - 1/8 tsp
- tomatoes, wedges or sliced - for garnish
- green onions, chopped - for garnish
Instructions:
Coat the inside of a 5 - 6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Cut pie crusts in half. Press 3 pie crust halves in bottom and 2 inches up the side of slow cooker, overlap seams by 1/4 inch. Cover remaining pie crust, place in refrigerator for another use. Cover; cook on high for 1 1/2 hours.
Sprinkle 1 cup cheese, ham and 1/4 cup onions over crust. In bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour ingredients over the crust; sprinkle 1 cup cheese over top.
Cover; cook on high for 1 1/2 hours or until filling is set. Uncover; let stand 5 minutes before serving. Cut into wedges; serve immediately. If desired garnish with tomatoes and additional onions.
