Beef Brisket
Ingredients:
- beef brisket - 5 - 8 pounds
- beef broth - 2 - 14 ounce cans
- lemon juice - 1/2 cup
- soy sauce - 1 1/2 cups
- garlic, minced - 3 cloves
- liquid smoke - 2 T
- onions - 2 medium
- Montreal Steak Seasoning -
Instructions:
In a roasting pan, combine marinade ingredients -- broth, lemon juice, soy sauce, garlic and liquid smoke, stir. Place brisket in the pan, fat side up, drizzle some marinade over the top. Sprinkle liberally with steak seasoning, place onions along the sides of the brisket. Cover pan with foil, place in the refrigerator for 24 - 48 hours. Bake in a preheated 300 degree oven, on the middle rack of the oven, for 40 minutes per pound of meat. Meat should be fork tender. Slice meat against the grain and place back in the marinade. To serve drizzle marinade over sliced meat and mashed potatoes OR serve on toasted buns. Leftovers can be frozen.
