Beef Tips in Wine
Ingredients:
- sirloin tips, cut into in inch cubes - 2 cups
- olive oil - 2 t
- yellow onion, diced - 1
- mushrooms, sliced - 2 cups
- garlic, crushed - 1 clove
- flour - 1 T
- dried thyme - 1/2 t
- pepper - 1/4 t
- nutmeg - 1/3 t
- dry red wine - 1/2 cup
- beef broth - 1 1/2 cups
- egg noodles - 3 cups
- parsley - 2 T
Instructions:
Add oil to a skillet, on medium heat brown meat on all sides. Add onions, cook for 2 - 3 minutes. Reduce heat to medium low add mushrooms and garlic, cook for 4 - 5 minutes until mushrooms are brown.
In a small dish combine flour, thyme, pepper and nutmeg; sprinkle over meat, stir, allow flour to brown 30 seconds - 1 minute. Add wine and broth, stir until liquid boils and slightly thickens. Reduce heat to low, cover loosely, simmer for 20 minutes. (If mixuture gets to thick add a little beef broth or water .)
Prepare noodles per package directions, drain. Stir noodles and parsley into meat mixture. Serve hot.
