Flank Steak
Ingredients:
- soy sauce - 1/2 cup
- cooking Sherry - 1/2 cup
- honey - 3 T
- Sesame OIl - 2 T
- minced ginger - 2 heaping T
- minced garlic - 3 - 5 cloves
- crushed red pepper flakes - 1/2 t
- flank steak - 1 whole
Instructions:
In a glass dish, stir all ingredients together except the meat. Place meat in the marinade, coating both sides of the meat with marinade. Cover dish, place in refrigerator for 3 - 6 hours.
Remove steak from the marinade, place on a plate. Place meat on a very hot grill, cook without touching for about 1 ½ - 2 minutes. Rotate the meat about 45 degrees, (this will give attractive grill marks) keeping it on the same side, grill for an additional 1 ½ minutes. Flip the steak. Grill for 1 1/2 minutes, then rotate 45 degrees and finishing grilling, to desired doneness. Medium rare, total grilling time 5 - 7 minutes.
Place meat on cutting board, let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Slice meat thinly against the grain.
