Pork Cacciatore
Ingredients:
- olive oil - 2 T
- onion, sliced - 1
- boneless pork chops - 4
- pasta sauce - 28 ounce jar
- diced tomatoes - 28 ounce can
- green bell pepper, seeded, sliced into strips - 1
- fresh mushrooms, sliced - 8 ounces
- garlic, minced - 2 large cloves
- Italian seasoning - 1 tsp
- dried basil - 1/2 tsp
- dry white wine - 1/2 cup
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - to desired amount
Instructions:
In a large skillet, brown chops over medium high heat. Place chops in a slow cooker. In the same skillet over medium heat, add oil, cook onion. Stir in mushrooms and bell pepper, cook until vegetables are soft. Mix in pasta sauce, tomatoes and wine. Add Italian seasoning, basil and garlic. Pour mixture over pork chops in slow cooker. Cook on low for 7 - 8 hours.
To serve, place chops on serving plate, cover with sauce, sprinkle Mozzarella cheese over top.
