White Gravy
Ingredients:
- butter - 5 T
- flour - 4 T
- vitamin D milk (no substitution) - 2 c
- salt and coarse black pepper - to desired taste
Instructions:
In a saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add flour whisking to combine. Whisk until flour is golden brown and smells nutty. Add 1 c milk and increase heat to medium.
Let it come to a simmer, stirring constantly to avoid sticking. Be ready to add more milk 1/4 - 1/2 c at a time until gravy thickens. Add pepper and salt, to desired taste.
Serve over meat, biscuits, toast, etc
