Streusel Topping-
9 T butter
1 1/2 c flour
1/3 c brown sugar
1/2 c Toffee Bits
Combine butter, flour, sugar and toffee bits. Form into 2 balls; refrigerate
Pie filling-
6 Macintosh or Cortland apples or apples of your choice
3/4 c Toffee Bits
1/3 c sugar
1 T cornstarch
1/8 t salt
2 T butter
single pie crust
Peel apples and cut into slices. Toss apples with toffee bits, sugar, cornstarch and salt. Pour into pie crust. Dot with butter. Crumble topping over apples.
Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Loosely cover pie with tent of foil with a quarter-size hole in middle. Bake 1 hour or until bubbly and crust is golden.
Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
