Cheeseburgers with Caramelized Onions
Ingredients:
- lean ground beef - 1 pound
- onion soup mix - 1 packet
- Au Jus seasoning - 1 packet
- onions, sliced thin - 3 - 5 medium
- butter - 8 T
- Swiss Cheese or Gruyere Cheese slices -
- hamburger buns -
Instructions:
In a skillet, melt butter, add onions, cook until golden and caramelized. Stir to keep onions covered in butter.
In a bowl, mix together ground beef and soup mix, form into patties. Grill to your desired doneness.
In a saucepan, simmer Au Jus and water. Place a generous amount of cheese on patties and melt. Brush buns with Au Jus, top with ground beef patty and onions.
