Hazlenut Spread and Banana on Challah
Ingredients:
- chocolate hazelnut spread - 1/4 cup
- salted almonds, roasted and chopped - 2 T
- ripe banana, sliced - 1 large
- challah or egg bread, cut 1 inch thick - 4 slices
Instructions:
Spread 1 T chocolate spread on each slice of bread. Sprinkle almonds over chocolate, pressing gently to adhere. Arrange banana on 2 bread slices. Top with remaining 2 bread slices, spread side down.
Lay sandwiches on hot grill. Place heavy skillet on top of sandwiches, pressing down gently. Grill 5 - 6 minutes or until grill marks appear, flip sandwich over, grill. Serve immediately. Can also be made in a panini pan.
