Stuffed French Bread
Ingredients:
- french bread, unsliced - 1 loaf
- lean ground beef - 1 pound
- finely chopped onion - 2 T
- chopped celery - 1/2 cup
- garlic, minced - 1 t
- cream of mushroom soup - 1 can
- milk - 2 T
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 t
- salt and pepper - to desired taste
- shredded cheddar cheese - 1 1/2 cups
- chopped parsley - 1/2 T
Instructions:
Slice french bread in two equal pieces, lengthwise. Remove the bread in the center of each piece tear into small chunks, place in a bowl; set aside. Place the two halves of bread onto a large baking sheet; set aside.
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the beef and onion; drain the grease. Add celery and garlic cook until celery is tender. Add soup, milk, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Stir and cook until heated through, 5 minutes or so. Add beef mixture to the bread, mix well. Spread mixture evenly into the center of the bottom half of the bread. Top mixture with the cheese. Place on top half of bread.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 10 - 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes, slice and serve.
