Ham and Bean
Ingredients:
- dried northern beans - 1 package
- ham bone, hocks, shanks OR diced ham - 1 pound
- onion powder - 2 t
- water or chicken broth - 6 cups
- salt and pepper - to desired taste
Instructions:
Rinse and sort the beans for any pebbles. Place all ingredients in a crock pot. Cover, cook on low about 8 hours, until beans are tender. Remove meat from the bone, return meat to the crock pot and stir. Serve with cornbread.
Chopped onions (to desired taste) can be subsituted for the onion powder.
