Coconut Syrup
Ingredients:
- butter - 1/2 c
- buttermilk - 3/4 c
- sugar - 1 c
- baking soda - 1/2 t
- coconut extract - 1t
Instructions:
In a large saucepan combine butter, buttermilk and sugar, stir over medium heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil and boil one minute.
Remove from heat, add baking soda and extract, stir constantly. Mixture will bubble up. Continue stirring syrup and set aside for a few minutes before serving. Serve warm on waffles, pancakes, French toast, crepes, pound cakes, etc.
