Marinara Sauce
Ingredients:
- olive oil -
- garlic cloves, chopped - 3 - 4
- yellow onion, chopped - 1
- whole plum tomatoes - 28 ounce can
- crushed tomatoes - 28 ounce can
- red wine or water - 1/2 c
- balsamic vinegar - 1 T
- sugar - 1 T
- garlic salt - 1 t
- dried Italian herbs - 1 T
- red pepper flakes - 1/2 t
- salt and pepper -
- fresh Italian flat leaf parsley, chopped - 1/4 c
- finely diced pepperoni (optional) - 10 slices
Instructions:
In a skillet add oil, cook onion and garlic until tender. Place all ingredients in crock pot, cover, cook on medium heat for 6 - 8 hours.
Can also be frozen.
